The Future Of Law as a discipline post UGC’s New Guidelines on Pursuing 2 Academic Programmes

13th April 2022 would be a historical moment for students of various disciplines who are pursuing their undergraduate or post graduate degrees but there would be a bigger celebration for Law students today in India because according to the rules of Bar Council of India (BCI ) Sec 6 of Rules of Legal Education 2008 prohibits Law Students to pursue or register for 2 Academic courses with certain exceptions

However for Law Students like me it is a day of celebrating bigger victory over this rule since now I will be officially allowed to pursue 2 courses simultaneously . The Discipline of Law keeps evolving and progressing every year , new amendments , new regulations, and what not .

Law is not limited to the Civil and Criminal in the 21st century Pandemic Era . Law is now expanded to micro elements like cyber laws , forensic laws , constitutional laws , Human Rights , International Laws and a lot more . With UGC giving a nod to pursue 2 programs simultaneously, The Future of Law students appears to be very bright according to me .

I am more than excited to share that I am awaiting a bright future along with other students by acquiring a degeee in the Security Studies and International Relations Domain in Political Science . It shall give me a bigger understanding of Various aspects in International relations along with International Laws and shall empower me to have a career not only in the legal domain but also in the field of Journalism, Diplomacy and what not .

As Marx Says “Revolutions are the locomotives of History” and this Landmark decision by the UGC will bring a positive change and impart new enthusiasm in the academia for students as you may never know that our hobbies may turn into our desires and then turn into a degree . Looking for a bright and prosperous future ahead for myself and my colleagues in the legal field .
